You have to memorize the job interview questions and answers. The hiring interview is a succession of exchanges and questions. The questions recruiters ask obviously have a purpose, and every answer given by the candidate is additional information obtained by the recruiter. It is obvious that if you are not prepared for this exercise, you will make mistakes, without necessarily realizing it, and this will hurt you during the interview.

“Tell me about yourself”
This question is a classic. It is almost always asked during an interview. I have written an entire article on this question and invite you to read it. In short, the recruiter wants to start the interview and find out how you express yourself and structure your thoughts, so you must convey strong and forceful messages that arouse the recruiter’s interest. To do this, you will present your career path by themes associated with your successes. You will also use storytelling techniques to capture the attention of the person in front of you.
“Tell me your qualities.”
- Answer choice 1: The topics I work on are numerous, so as not to confuse them, I keep files every weekend in referenced files. I also scan completed files by date so that I can return to them if necessary several months or years from now.
- Answer choice 2: I don’t like to end my day with an unfinished task. I prefer to stay at work another 30 minutes, complete the file and then go home. I also stayed an extra hour. As you can see, these faults have no relation to the job and yet they are faults. The recruiter will conclude that you have answered the question correctly and that your shortcomings will not be an obstacle to the job. Finally, forget the famous “i’m a perfectionist”. I have heard this phrase hundreds of times, as have all recruiters, and I can’t stand it anymore. Being a perfectionist is not a flaw and if in the candidate’s eyes it is, then it sets a very bad example because the recruiter will conclude that the candidate is wasting too much time and is not capable of completing their tasks.
“What is your work experience?”
As I have already told you, the recruiter does not have to take your word for it. You have to sell yourself in the best way. That’s how you’ll once again stand out from the other candidates.

“Why did you apply?”
When a recruiter asks you this question, he doesn’t necessarily want to know why you applied. He knows perfectly well that you want to find a job, that you’ve seen the ad, that you’ve applied for a permanent contract, an internship, etc. This question is more subtle than that. Your answer should be more in line with the needs of the company. The recruiter must understand that you have identified the real needs of the position, the company or the department. Therefore, you should avoid giving motivations that are too self-centered.
- Answer option 1: “I want to apply what I have learned during my studies” or “I want to discover a new sector””. This is what is best to say when you are asked this question.
